Research Interests:
Dr. Perry received his Ph.D. at the University of Alabama in 1995 with an emphasis on mass communication theory, processes and effects. He has taught at Stillman College and the University of Alabama prior to coming to Illinois State University. Dr. Perry's research interests include media effects on culture and public opinion, religious broadcasting, and electronic media programming. He has authored nine journal articles and two book chapters. He brings to his teaching and research a rich set of media experiences, including television, print, and radio.

Teaching Interests:
He has taught the introductory mass communication course and a graduate seminar in mass communication, as well as courses in media theory and effects and broadcast programming.
